She stepped out, on the dance floor
Dressed in silver and white
She moved along so gracefully
One knew she’d dance all night
All the others on the dance floor
Just stood in awe, as she took centre stage
She was a beauty, yes, a timeless beauty
No one could guess her age
Well today was, again, her night
And she had planned to make it last
She never seemed tired from waltzing
She had done this, all night, in the past
She had done this, all night, in the past
She could have been Cinderella,
Come to the Ball, to dance all by her self
But she had no preconditions, as such
To leave before the clock struck twelve
As the night went by,
She looked more lively and splendid
And every single one that gazed at her
Went into a trance, that never ended
But as the night ended and dawn was breaking
She knew it was time to end the trance
So she graciously bowed and left the dance floor
The moon in bright silver, illuminating and dazzling the world below with her magnificence...with the soft moonbeams drenching the dark earth...dancing moonbeams :)
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Loved the way you said it all- the dancing beauty, all alone, waltzing away the whole night...I get an image of the prettiest lady(Cinderella?:)) all dressed in white, with silver and diamond jewellery dancing among the stars :) Beautiful Dad, you're getting better with each of your works...and the speed with which you write!Oh God! Do I even have to say anything?!:D
Amazing work with beautiful metaphors :))
Keep writing, Dad :)
Ohh Yeah! Forget to mention the pics you picked...What beautiful pics adding something extra to the poem :)

Fantastic lines. How you do it John? I am lost for words. I don’t know how to say it. But I think I will just pat you on the back and say “Well done, Johnu, You do it yet again.”. Another beauty( Mujhe jalaane me kya maja aata hai aap ko?) Well, well, well , Each beauty has a different dimension of beauty and hats off to you, you see beauty in every one and every thing and make us see the beauty in everyone. Now every time I see the moon, I too have started seeing a beauty dancing all night, I can imagine her beautiful yet jealous(from your previous post of love triangle.) and your posts leave such impression on me that my outlook of nature and other things (including coffee0 has changed and I look for the beauties in every thing and wonder who will your next beauty be? Each time I read your poem , it thrills me and make me go in to a trance. I thoroughly enjoyed this post as all the others. You write so beautifully with such simple words . Yours is a unique style which I love. Keep blogging and looking forward to your next one.

Another post dedicated to the extremely beautiful and enchanting entities of nature:-)!! Its always a joy to read your posts:-)! You describe so marvelously nature's beauty!! The last line was really a good thought, such selfless attitude of the beautiful moon..we must learn from it!!:-)
ReplyDeleteFinally finally finally I've arrived at the scene of the rhyme :D
ReplyDeleteYou're getting good at the suspense-filled poems, dada! You've got a wonderful knack of correlating the elements of nature with the aspects of human life... and the outcome each time is a treat for the reader!
I try really hard to read between the lines but sadly it's not till the very end that I figure out who the protagonist is! And in this case, it was the picture at the end which gave away the gist of the composition! Great combination of letters and pixels :)
Keep up the good work!
I always thought of the moon as a male but you have so very well described the moon as a beautiful lady that now when I look upto the sky I can literally imagine a lady dressing in white dancing away and the stars watching her in amazement !!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful correlations.. Its so lovely to see elements of nature represented as humans with feelings !!
Very wel written dadda !! This style of writing is definitely your forte and totally love it :)
