I'm a firm believer that dreams can, always come true, I've been a dreamer all my life, and almost all my dreams have come true. All you have do is have a dream, and then go after it, until you make it come true.
You have done it again Johna. You are a master in 55 fiction and that too in poetry form. I could not guess at all. Loved it. You prove again and again that there is no comparision to you in your own style of poetry . Keep writing.
Woah! Reminded me of Stranger in the Mirror by Sheldon, even though I wasn't able to guess the mystery (it has become a trend, I know!) Unlike your other posts, the fiction in this case is not the allusion to a non-living object, but the protagonist's feelings and emotions (which were genuine in the other posts). Good stuff! Anyway I love the mirror for what I get to see in it! And not just mirrors... I love reflections, symmetry especially! Keep the gems coming, pop! :)
I loved it, Dad...what a beautiful post. 55 Fiction is completely you forte! Now, I did guess this one as soon as I read the first line (something I'm very proud of:p)
"When I look in the mirror, All that I see, Is a stranger staring back. This couldn't possibly be me"
I read this is in a poetry and writing site...and the first four lines match so much with the feelings in your post. I know how strange it feels to look in a mirror and not recognize the person staring back. But that's who you are, and that's your real identity, even if you deny it, the mirror shows you that you can't hide it (atleast, not from yourself).
Very well written, nice pic (with the frown lines and everything!). Looking forward to your next post! :)
So beautifully written with deep philosophical implication. Man is a stranger to man himself, so beautifully depicted. But, one cannot hide from this stranger, one's thoughts and feelings. I can relate this to a man's soul and his character. Both are the elements of the same person but at times, behave as absolute strangers. Waiting for more like these :-)
So many times, we come across situations when we can't recognise ourselves. And such a situation beautifully depicted all in 55 words. This post to me paints a picture of a man who seems to have done something he hadn't predicted, and has moved on caught in life but one day when he looks at himself, he is a stranger to himself. Somehow reminds me of the book 'The picture of Dorian Gray'.
