She waits for me.
She’s all alone.
While I’m away ,
She feels all empty ,
As if the only purpose of her existence,
has been, having me between her arms.
She’s complete when I’m with her.
I close my eyes , feeling totally relaxed, in her soft comfort.
She’s always been my favourite chair.

Great work, Dad! Couldn't guess it at all...and it totally matches how I feel about that black 'heaven-like' rocking chair downstairs :)
ReplyDeleteI guess you always need one comfy, cozy chair to relax...to be lost in, a chair you're so used to, you've worn it down. I guess, for you, it'd be your computer chair, right?
You've got a gift to make inanimate objects, that no one thinks about daily, suddenly seem so full of life, making you realize that you simply can't do without them:)
Nice pic, and what a way to write!
Loved the post...just one complain: why the long gap? I missed your posts :)
Love you :*
ThankQ Sweet heart, I guess everyone may be having there own favourite cozy comfy chair
Deleteto relax in.loved your comments. Love you kid.
I know...I love you too, Dad :)
DeleteI totally agree with Cathy... Should i say, welcome back? Well, yes.. i think so. I couldn't even guess it out, till i read the last line!
ReplyDeleteJust one word.. Awesome!! Loved it! your favourite chair. Even i too felt relaxed reading this.. sitting on/in my chair (i hardly feel relaxed sitting in it) but this made me relaxed. Superb composition!! :)
ThanQ Yu Ra,I always enjoy your comments. Simple & spontaneous, thanks.
DeleteA master piece. I could not guess till the end.(This in itself is a compliment to you as I pride myself in guessing your ideas). Oh, the computer chair!!. Ah, you have outrun us on this one. I wanted , or rather we wanted, to write about your favourite computer chair and the computer table with you legs up on the bed, whether browing, realxing, watching TV or anyother thing. . Lovely one and that too in 55 words. Superb. Hats Off to you Johna. Loved it totally. I think, I have stoped being jealous of things now(Or haven't I??). Now, I am sure that whenever you write about a sensual woman with such feeling, I can be sure it is going to be a thing and not me or anyone else. Keep writing. Looking forward to your next one .
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, I always love to make you jealous. Love you girl.
DeleteThat was a good one (and I like that illustration)
ReplyDeleteYou a fan of Jim Reeves ?
ThanQ Haddok, & yes I've always been a fan ov Gentleman Jim. since my childhood.
DeleteI read this and wondered, how in heaven's name can someone write something so true and lovely, about a chair! I didn't even have a clue that there'd be a twist in the end.
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you, I enjoy these 55 words write-ups of yours thoroughly.
Thanks Katie, I like your comments, they are always quite encouraging ,thanks once again.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha sheer awesomeness!
ReplyDeleteI kept wracking my brains till the very end, and still wasn't able to figure out who the mystery 'lady' in question was! Which depresses me because Mumma keeps mentioning your love for the chair, and how you both are inseparable :p
Really good one, Dada! Your command over 55fiction is unparalleled :)
Keep up the fab work!
Once again you were successful in keeping up your ace talent!!
ReplyDeleteThis time, it was impossible for me to guess..:-)
How romantic can one be for one's chair!! Rather, what a lucky chair to have found such a romantic and a considerate master!!:-)
Shall we call this a new era love story (??) between a romantic owner and his comforting chair??:-)
Finally you wrote about your favorite chair. I could definitely imagine you pining for that comfy chair in the house. I wish I had such a chair to which I could come back to at the end of a tiring day ;)
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I couldn't guess it till the very end. I kept on thinking that it might have been a pillow :D
