My Best Friends ( 55 fiction # 5 )

My life has changed. I've moved on , leaving so many of my
best friends behind.
Their memories still linger on, I still recall the  days &
nights I spent with them.
I shared their world with them, they were so close to my heart.

YES, Life has changed. Damn TV!

I miss my books.

  1. Very true . Books are one's Bestest friends. My best friends too were books till I met you then you took the place of books and everything else. You share their world and you become part of their world. I you have books you don't need anything else. You are never alone when you have books. As usual, your style of writing is superb. I did not guess that you were writing about books. Loved it. But don't blame TV. I like TV too but ofcourse, books are in a league of their own. Keep writing.

  2. Hey Dad...loved the post. Had no idea what you were talking about. I really thought it was about some actual people:D

"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers."

Isn't that true? A book consists of nothing but lifeless paper...with words that may give a person a new life, a new thought, new dreams. I totally love my books and they'll always be my closest friends. And it's you're fault that you let go of them and turned to TV!:p:D
TV is not bad too, except sometimes...It's not its fault, it's just that people have a tendency to get addicted to new things, and so, when the TV came along, it fascinated everyone. Still, I don't like it much. :/

Even if you've stopped reading, with the same intensity and passion that you used to, don't the memories remain? The stories, the plots, the feeling you got, the adrenaline rush, or the tears? I never forget the feeling I get or the emotions I feel, while reading any book...it always remains and that's the best thing ever :)

Well, loved the way you wrote it...without giving away what you were actually referring too. Your 55 word fictions are always amazing, Dad. :)

Keep it up. Love you...I can't wait to read what you have in store next! Hurry! :):*

And yeah, I forgot to say...I read this sometime ago, "A book lover never goes to bed alone". Hehehe :D True, na? Have my latest novel next to me, right now, on the bed ;)

  3. I had been going through some blogs and came across yours, Sir, and I read some of your posts. I liked it very much, especially the poetry. I'll definitely being going through the rest of your writings.

And this one is so true too. Though, I'm still a fan of reading and find time for it, Television really has taken up lots of time, which I would have rather liked spending on my books. But it really is an incurable addiction!
    Nice work.

  4. Thankfully I'm not that addicted to TV - the idiot box with the crazy channel surfing that it entails no longer appeals to me! No, sir... it's the dreaded laptop and the plethora of social networking sites that I'm slightly addicted to!
True that books are like best friends - the best thing about best friends is that no matter how long you feel to keep in touch, the moment you return to them, it was as if you never lost contact. The same holds true in case of books - I've been reading on and off in the past couple of years, but I resumed full-time reading and it feels quite rejuvenating!
Great post, Dad... and yes, I'm back to not being able to figure out the mystery as before!
