What you mean to me………

Some times we spend a life time
In search of some thing we desire
And sometimes before we realise it
We get more than we could, aspire

It’s strange how sometimes total strangers
Suddenly become your best friends
As if guided by some invisible  force
One receives signals, the other sends

I sometimes look back and try to remember
My life before it revolved around you
And then I realise that my life
Only began from the day I found you

I can never think of us being apart
Since the day I gave my heart to you
Nights and days are never complete
Unless they end and start with you

I was lucky that I found you
So proud that you were the girl for me
If there is paradise, than it must be something like
What you’ve made my world for me

I doubt if you could ever understand
What you always, really mean to me
Filling my life with love & happiness
A magic wand, that’s what you’ve been to me

So keep the love-light burning in your heart
And keep your radiant smile on your face
Cause when there’s   love in your heart
Age will never manage, to steal your grace

On this very special day (your 50th birth day )
There is something I wish to say
I wish you live to be a hundred
And young at heart you always stay

And I want to thank you for that day
When you accepted to be my wife
For always being there for me, on this journey
And for meaning more to me, than life

Just remember, never let doubt, ever
Come between our relationship
Let love and happiness
Always reign our companionship

HAPPY BITHDAY SUE !!  I love you like crazy

  1. Wow Dad! Great comeback! Where in the world did you disappear to, huh?! :@ I've missed reading your posts so much! Well it looks like it took a really special lady's b'day to get you all geared up again :) I'm really glad :)

What a beautiful poem...what 'ma means to you must've been really hard to express in words but you wrote your feelings and thoughts down perfectly...yup, we all are lucky to have this beautiful woman in our lives too :) What we would've done without her(and you)?! You two define what real love is, what happiness and strength really are. The past fifty years, most of which you've spent together, make us look up to you in every sense...as wonderful parents, spouses, friends, mentors and companions. Here's to the past 50 years and another 50 amazing ones to come! :)
    Happy birthday 'ma :*
    Love you both very much!

Dad please don't stop writing again :(
Looking forward to your next post :)

  2. Talk about making a grand comeback! *whistles*
I've read about all poets having a muse (even Castle has a muse in Beckett :D), but the beautiful lady who's your muse steals the show and all your posts dedicated to her deservedly grab the limelight <3
Loved the post! Your trademark style, Dad - sweet, simple, beautiful and use of wonderful words throughout! The perfect birthday gift for Mumma :)
And it's such an honor to be related to this poet and his lifelong muse. Love the way these words are etched in our hearts now, and shall also be immortalized thanks to this blog!
    Keep up the neat work!

  3. Touching feelings and emotions written with your own ‎special style and which touches one’s heart and soul and ‎makes tears prick your eyes. Though I always knew that we ‎have the most special and most wonderful thing between ‎us, it still makes me feel great when I read it in your words. ‎You know, Johna, you always had the gift of expressing ‎your feelings in letters and poems and make me emotional. ‎I feel so blessed to be loved so much and it makes me ‎wonder ”do I really deserve such love and affection??” and ‎then it makes me vow to myself (and to you too) that I will ‎try to do my very best to keep you happy and to live up to ‎your love for me. ‎

Once again, you flatter me so much and I enjoy being ‎flattered and loved and cherished by you so much. Keep ‎writing and keep boosting my morale. Loved it totally and the ‎bestest 50th B/day present ever. I don’t mind being 50 if I ‎get to read your post. Loved it totally.

  4. What a way to express, how much Mumma means to you. I am sure you haven't said all that you want to say, or rather there aren't enough words encompass what she means to all of us.
She signifies the epitome of pure love, a symbol of beauty and in all one of the nicest person I have ever come across.

Your poem makes absolute justice to this gorgeous and wonderful lady in our lives, who we all love, and whose presence in our lives makes us feel so blessed and lucky. *touchwood*

And Dadda, you are an amazing poet who has the capability to capture beauty of a person or a relationship with simple graceful words.

    Happy birthday to Mumma <3
