From far away, he could see her
She was standing there firm & tall
And his sinking heart, beat faster
Raising his hopes and all
There was nobody visible
Nor anything else insight
It was a lonely path that he had taken
And he’d walked all day and all night
She stood there all alone
Her arms spread wide open
Inviting him, for a warm embrace
Even though a word was not spoken
In the wind he could see her hair
Was blowing, so wild
In the sun light, he saw
Her skin glowing, like a child
Though she didn’t utter a word
He could hear her softly calling him
It had been a long, lonesome journey
And the sun rays, had scorched his skin
Thirsty, hungry and exhausted, he trudged along
As he reached close, he lay down near her feet,
He found comfort in her presence above him
The shade from her boughs, covered him like a sheet
He was found there, the next morning
Beneath the tall, sycamore tree
He seemed at peace, after a long journey
And the smile on his face, said he was, free
