LOVE IS BLIND

She was so young and beautiful, but she was blind
And for this, she hated all mankind
She hated almost every one, except one
A boy, who loved her & was very kind

Then one day, he finally
Asked her “Will you marry me ?”
She  thought for a moment
Then said “ I will, but, only, when I can see”

A donor was found, now the operation
was over, and soon, she could see
She seemed to love, the whole world now
But most of all, her own beauty

The boy asked her, “Now that you can see
Will you marry me?”
She was shocked, when she looked at him
She said “I would have to be mad, to agree”

He was silent, and hurt, he turned
To walk away, fighting back a tear
Then he stopped and whispered
“ Just take good care of my eyes dear ”

This poem was inspired by a short story I read
some time back. It shows how we  humans
change, when ever there is a change in a situation, condition
or with time. We are basically selfish beings,
selfless love is very rare. But then, this is Life.

PROVOCATIVE # 4 ( BEHIND THE SCENE )

This is the full story ( my version ) behind the scene, the scene which was originally created by my dearest daughter in her blog post titled ‘ Provocative’( http://words-that-matter.blogspot.in/2012/02/provocative.html ) (Who also was inspired from the blog post  http://i-me-mysolitude.blogspot.in/2012/01/fire-and-ice-55fiction-1.htm)Which actually provoked me to tell the story behind the scene, I found it too tempting to let it go unsaid, so here’S the outcome. Hope you guys like it.

He watched her, walk away
In search of some one new
She had done this before
And she will do this again, he knew

He had fallen in love with her
The first time she had smiled
It was her smile that captured his heart
It brightened her face, like a child

Words weren’t needed to be spoken
He thought she understood his silence
Just her presence was enough
To brighten his days, ever since

Each time she came close to him
His heart would, skip a beat
When she was away, he thought about her
Wondering, when they’d meet ?

Though he was totally unaware
That he was living in a fool’s paradise
Soon all his dreams would be shattered
And he would have to pay the price

Now after the second peg, finally
He seemed to come to his senses
He didn’t know how he would survive this
He had to face the facts without any pretenses

He had now realized
That she was just a little tease
She would always lead one on
And she did this with such ease

He glanced and he saw her
She looked, so beautiful and so cool
She was already busy, casting a spell
On some other new fool

He decided it was time to put an end
To this game she had started
Even though it meant walking away
Lonely, lost and broken hearted

He knew she would always
Remain embedded in his memory
Within the depths of his heart to stay
And he would never really, be free

He put down the glass on the bar counter
And slowly walked towards the door
He had made up his mind, that
He would never come here any more

This was the place where he had
First met & fallen in love with her
Since that day not a single evening
Went without him visiting here

But now he wanted to banish, this place
From his world, for ever more
And forget that, this place, even existed, where
He met a girl, he thought he would always adore

Her smile so warm, yet her heart was, cold as ice
His  heart was aflame, with love burning inside
It’s sad, but love is always, left in shambles
When ever these two: Fire & Ice collide

REJUVENATING........ ( 55 fiction # 4 )

It was a still, dark summer night.
He sat alone on the terrace, waiting for her,
knowing she would be there any moment.
He needed her company, to revive his tired body
and soul. Suddenly he felt her, lovingly, ruffling  his hair,
her refreshing coolness surrounding him,
Banishing the  beads of sweat from his brows

Rescue....... ( 55 fiction # 3 )

She was all grace, slender, fair, her face aglow,
But she was in pain, and tears started to flow
They just kept falling, so soft, so pure
Someone would rescue her from her suffering
Of this she was sure

So she waited for the cool breeze to blow
Till then the candle would patiently glow

WAITING FOR HER TURN ( To Be Free ? ) ..... 55 fiction # 2

She lay there alone, in the dark enclosure, all the others were taken away, and none  returned. She caught a glimpse of the outside world, whenever one was taken out.

Soon she was out in the open, she was struck, her face burnt for awhile…….
then the matchstick’s life was over.

Yearning For Her Soft Touch

Even during the busy day at office, I kept thinking about her.
Every morning, leaving her was difficult, after sharing my dreams with her.

I returned late at night.  She looked inviting, lying on the bed,  patiently, waiting for me.

Dimming  the lights, I gently rested my head upon her…...

I love my soft pillow.

Well this is my first attempt at 55 word fiction. It was more difficult  than
writing a poem in  my own familiar style., but I loved  doing this, & I hope you guys also enjoy it.
