UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

It was love at first sight for him
He knew this, the moment he saw her
Her beauty was so mesmerizing
He couldn’t, help but love & adore her

He loved her & he lived, only for her
A desire so strong, it kept burning within him
And although she never seemed to realise it
There was this strange chemistry between them

There were others who loved him
Who needed his love & warmth to feel secure
But this one sided love of his, was his destiny
He only existed for her, of this he was so sure

She must have noticed him at times
Or at least sensed that he has, always been around
Ready to dry her tears and put an end to her fears
Silently taking care of her without uttering a sound

But it didn’t matter to him that
She showed neither love for him, nor gratitude
He will always love her for what she really is
No matter what she did, he never felt she was rude

So he was content, just watching her
Keeping his distance, keeping his control
He knew just one step closer to her
Would completely destroy her, body and soul

This is what unconditional love is all about
Just giving & expecting nothing in return
Seeing that the one you love, blossoms & grows
Even if you are in agony, always having to burn

Since the day they came in to existence
It has always been a one sided affair
We know that the earth cannot survive
Without the sun’s warmth, love and care

  1. Hats off Johna, I could not guess till the end. I exercised my brain ‎from the moment I heard the first few lines, but , well, the fault is ‎yours. You gave such a long gap between your posts that my brain ‎has gone rusty and I could not guess it. ‎

As usual , lovely way of writing and kept me engrossed and guessing ‎right till the last line , i.e. till you revealed the answer yourself. I ‎should feel a bit ashamed of myself but well, you do have the knack ‎of keeping people guessing right till the last. Well done, Loved it. ‎Simple but amazing. Write more frequently but not 2 and 3 in one ‎single day.. Looking forward to your next suspense. ‎

  3. Great work Dad!:) Couldn't guess this time at all...the Sun bit, I figured it out (though I wasn't sure about it) from these lines:

"He knew just one step closer to her
Would completely destroy her, body and soul"
    and...

"Seeing that the one you love, blossoms & grows
Even if you are in agony, always having to burn"

...but Earth was the beauty, that I couldn't figure out at all :/ Loved the way you weaved the story of Sun's unrequited love for the Earth...To burn(literally :)) with desire and not be able to do anything about it...how sad is that?:(( and romantic too <3<3<3

It seems nature's beauties keep calling to you if you forget them for too long :p Keep up the awesome work Dad!:)

  4. Totally awesome !!

//"He knew just one step closer to her
Would completely destroy her, body and soul"

How true is it in real life, in many lives !!

And nature so perfectly serves as a metaphor, showing the way of life..

I could not guess till the end what your were describing.. Great work as usual :) :)

    Keep writing !!

You sharpen our brains with your work..

    +1 on mumma's comment btw :D

  5. Too good!!:-) A great post..again depicting the nature's beauty so perfectly and romantically!! The self-less love of the sun for the earth, its everlonging yet unfullfilled desire...being described so magnificently:-) As I have said earlier, your posts always add another dimension to observe nature...Its really amazing to see, how similar nature is, to humans. The romance between the earth and the sun is so perfect, so precious and...so timeless:-)!

  6. Ahh! The beauty of unconditional love captured so well! And that too using the example of two of God's most wonderful creations... you na Dada must seriously contemplate writing short stories and poems that would surely find their way to English textbooks for school kids... they'd surely learn a lot and be amazed at this perspective - the chemistry between nature's disparate elements :)
And as expected, I couldn't figure out the suspense till the very end! Woe is me :(
    Keep writing!! Love you loads...
